Mine and quarry management using civilian UAVs is currently one of the most promising applications in terms of time and money savings and productivity gains.

 

The fact that UAVs can capture large amounts of data is a key element in this context. Subsequently, the processing and analysis of the data captured provides answers to the issues our customers experience on these kinds of sites. DATA GEOREFERENCING

TECHNI DRONE’s team is able to deliver core industry skills. A topographer is present during our work on the mines or quarries where we carry out our assignments. This is the person who ensures that data is successfully collected from the site. He or she also sets up control points on the sites and handles georeferencing using a differential GPS (from Trimble or Leica Geosystems).


If required by your project, we are able to provide you with data that can be integrated into the French geodetic system. The accuracy of the data we provide is variable and depends on each project. It is around 5 cm on the X and Y axes and around 10 cm on the Z axis. Accuracy can be improved by increasing the number of control points and taking more photos at a lower height. However, this does result in longer data processing times.

 

 TYPES OF FILES DELIVERED

By default, we deliver digital files in PDF format containing the information requested. TECHNI DRONE adapts to its customers’ requests and can deliver files that can be directly used on their computers.

Below are the files delivered by TECHNI DRONE that can be used by our customers.

– 3D grid  (OBJ, OSGB, Collada, XML LOD tree)
– Orthophotos  (TIFF/GeoTIFF, JPG)
– MNS/MNT (TIFF/GeoTIFF, ESRI ASCII grid ASC, XYZ)
– Nuages de point denses (LAS)

Our export files are compatible with the tools SIG, SIG 3D and widely known CAD and 3D software: AutoCAD, COVADIS, Autodesk, MeshLab, ESRI, Agency9 CityPlanner, Photoshop, GEOMENSURA

The georeferencing supports over 4,000 reference systems and can be personalised at the customer’s request.

RATES FOR OUR SERVICES

These rates include:

1. Analysing and understanding your needs

2. Data acquisition using UAVs (a pilot and a topographer are present)

3. Data processing and analysis

4. Provision of the report

 

Each request is unique and a personalised quotation must be drawn up for each service. Nevertheless, for an assignment carried out by our teams (comprised of a pilot and a topographer) you should expect to pay €1,250 for one day of data capture. The rates then vary depending on the data you require; for example, calculating the height of quarry faces, cubature measurements or a Digital Terrain Model (DTM). Expect to pay less than €2,000 to obtain a calculation of calculation of inventory (cubatures) and around €3,000 for a comprehensive set of site monitoring data. We promise to deliver data within the five days following the data capture process.
